Here is a little information for those who like to do it themselves. Below are a few picture examples of some of the processes involved in installing pavers over existing surfaces and in new construction. For more information on these processes, visit the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute at the link provided below. There you will find the proper guidelines for installing a beautiful paver area that will last a lifetime.

Do It Yourself
Pool Deck Remodel

In order to install remodel coping, the existing cantilever edge is cut off to create a 90 degree angle. the remodel coping generally lines up perfect with the tile.
Here, all of the edges have been cut off and are ready for the coping.
Next, the installer determines where he needs to cut the coping to achieve the desired angles.
Finally the coping is mortared into place and the spaces filled with grout. Now the pavers can be installed.
In order to install driveway pavers, the existing cement is excavated and hauled away. If the cement is in good condition, thin pavers can be used instead.
Driveway Remodel
After excavation, a layer of crushed aggregate is dumped, leveled and compacted.
Next, the pavers are installed. It is always a good idea to pull from all the pallets to ensure an even blend.
Finally, sand is swept into the joints of the pavers and the edges are mortared to prevent paver migration.
